Global Warming And Climate Change - 1398 Words

Global warming and climate change have been frequent topics of discussion over the past several years. Although people tend to focus on the politics, it is important to look past the media aspects of it into the cold hard facts of what our Earth is currently experiencing, and what has caused it in the first place. The cause of climate change includes natural causes, but human causes are what is generating such a rapid global temperature change. It’s time that the ways in which humanity affects the Earth’s climate, how scientists record and measure the climate change, and what can be done in everyday life to slow it down and/or stop global warming, are recognized. There are two main human causes of Earth’s global warming and climate†¦show more content†¦But humans have caused the majority of greenhouse gas emissions in recent years, mostly by the constant use of electricity, transportation, industry and agriculture. In 2013, the US Environmental Protecti on Agency, aka EPA, recorded in an article that 6,673 million metric tons of the equivalent to carbon dioxide has been released due to the emission of those specific greenhouse gases (Sources of Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Overview). It is widely agreed that the most relevant greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere are: Water Vapor (H2O), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O), Ozone (O3), and most commonly, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). What needs to be made known is, air spreads worldwide, and globally-speaking there is no place/country with significantly more greenhouse gases than another does (EPA). All humans are subjected to the same amount of global warming, even if one lives in an area that does not release much greenhouse gas in comparison to a country like the United States. In the textbook The Essential Cosmic Perspective, it makes it clear that visible light is either reflected or absorbed by the Earth, any energy absorbed must be sent back into space, and if not, it causes therm al radiation (Bennett et al. 181). So, when humans burn fossil fuels, it essentially is knowingly creating gases that cannot be returned to space and trapping them into Earth’s atmosphere, thus increasing global temperatures. Along with human activity involving fossil

Hi, I’m Mariono im 15 years old and during my 15 years of existence I’ve learned many things I’ve also experienced many things, but I also have surrounded my beliefs around things I was taught. The one major thing that I go by which I call a belief is expressing your feelings and not holding them in ask for help if you need it. I say this because I had to learn the hard way and hurting others while learning. I wouldn’t say that I had an attitude but it was like I was mad at the world I felt like I was being punished for nothing so as I got older people would bring up my situation more and more. They would ask me questions like are you okay? Are you happy? Should we talk about it? Then I would be dishonest because I was so determined that I was going to keep a motto me, myself and I. I also would get jealous sometimes when I saw happy families together because that feeling turned me kind of bitter. As my teen years started to come the more accomplishments I achieved the more angry I got because I wanted that father and son bond time. It started to affect me a lot I started to think different in school, lashing out at people for nothing so of course people started to notice the difference in me. Then people started offering me help and some I didn’t even know so then I stopped talking a lot and one day me and my mom had a disagreement about a box of cereal and then my body just let go and I snapped. It was like I couldn’t control myself I was letting so much out over something so small and once I cooled down I sat down and thought about it and I thought to myself I can’t live like this. So I ask my mom for some changes so now I live with a full figure family a little bother a little sister and I have a dad to talk to and now I can release myself. Sometimes I will think about my past and the choices I made and how I grew up and when I do I just simply talk to someone without being afraid of being judged. I try to spread and help people with my belief as much as I can and I just want to close out by saying your body is like a temple it’s a certain amount of everything it can take before a reaction come out so you should try to take care of it as much as possible don’t leave stress in anger and you ask for help then release it. Seasons change and so do feelings. Best friends move away. Love isn’t always true and life is never easy. Life doesn’t come with an eraser and the time machine is still just a nice thought. My best friend invited me to a party where I knew there would be drinking. I went, but I did not take even a sip. Sitting on the sidelines, I watched as she continued destroying her life. She drank drink after drink until she hit the floor. With her small body size, it is a wonder she’s still alive. Everyday I come home from school and ask how my mom’s day went. Everyday I hear the same answer. I can tell she’s lying sometimes. She fakes a smile, says everything went well, and then looks the other way. At night I hear her cry and with all of her effort, we are still barely just getting by. Mexico City Essay

Mexico City Essay Mexico City Essay Welcome to Mexico City! Mexico City is one of the largest populated cities. It’s built on a lake called Texcoco that is constantly sinking; it has sunk more than 9 meters in some areas in the last 100 years. Mexico City sits on a basin called the Valley of Mexico. Mountains surround the Valley and have a mild climate with rich soil. The first settlers that arrived in the Mexico Valley were the Aztecs about a thousand years ago. The Aztecs created a mighty empire with the Tenochtitlan people but in 1521, Spain took over. The Tenochtitlan people were destroyed. Some 300 years later, in 1821, Mexico won its independence back from Spain. Life was tough for some Mexican Farmers. About 15% of the land was suitable for farming. Most of the land was too dry, rocky, or mountainous to grow crops. At one time, farmers were the backbone for the Mexican society, but now many farmers have to sell their land in order to survive. Sometimes, they go to work for wealthy plantations for more mo ney. Usually, wages are low resulting to poverty and unemployment in rural Mexico. Many farmers move to the city in hopes of finding jobs that will give them decent pay and give their families a brighter future. During the 1970’s and 80’s, about 1,000 people a day have moved to the Capital. Now, many try to cross the U.S boarders. Urbanization creates problems in Mexico City. There are too many people not enough land. Mexico City is expanding, and suburbs are spreading into the mountains. Rapid growth has had a negative impact on Mexico City’s environment. The air pollution is the worst. In 1991, the air quality was a public risk for 355 days. Thick blankets of smog hang over the city. Many residents suffer from asthma or other diseases. At the time pollution was thought to cause 1,000 deaths and 35,000 hospitalizations per year.

World Trade Organization Today Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

World Trade Organization Today - Essay Example The study "World Trade Organization Today" describes the work of the institution responsible for the multilateral trading system. The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the one and only international organization dealing with multilaterally agreed rules on trade among its member countries. Through WTO agreement, which spell out rights and obligations, member countries operate a nondiscriminatory multilateral trading system that has allowed world trade to grow. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, and exporters and importers, conduct their business in a manner that ensures predictability and stability. The supreme body of the WTO is the Ministerial Conference which is held at least once in every two years. It comprises representatives of all members and functions to oversee the implementation of members' obligations as well as to negotiate new agreements. The day-to-day business of the WTO is conducted under the supervision of the General Council (GC) which comprises re presentatives of all members to the WTO who are usually of Ambassadorial level or equivalent. The GC has the authority to act on behalf of the Ministerial Conference and oversees the operations of agreements and ministerial decisions. As the principal institution with responsibility for the multilateral trading system, the WTO has the same status as institutions such as the World Bank and IMF. The WTO has legal personality and has been accorded privileges similar to those accorded to the specialized UN agencies.
